Loudest possible? Straight pipes. Costs very little, but highly illegal and terrible for the environment. Please do not go the straight pipe method. It is obnoxiously loud.

When I had B&B headers, cats, and exhaust on my 3.6 it could be heard easily from a mile away.

Borla 987.1 exhaust, NHP catless race headers, and cat delete mids sounded pretty mean on my 986! I went back to the Dansk sausage muffler for city use as it was much more civilized/tame for daily use.

secondary cat deletes and look for an exhaust that has the word "race" in it and weights less than 15 lb
I just sold my Stebro race exhaust to another forum member, this thing was MEAN and LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUD

I have a Borla exhaust and custom headers. The Borla was on before I replaced with stock. It is loud and mean. The PO told me it sounds meaner with the custom headers. PM me if you are interested.

Why do you want "the loudest meanest sounding Boxster there is"? Is it a "look at me" thing or do you derive enjoyment from annoying people? Just curious.

Search the forum and you'll find a few other owners who said the same - and then regretted it later. Be sure that is what you reallly want before you spend any $$.

Not quite ! My custom 9ff catback with 2.5' inlets and 3' outlets straight out to the 90mm tips sounds a lot better .

I'll stay right behind you until your bikini top flies off, and then I'll pass you .

The top will be home for extra weight savings, then I'm getting a NG tube like those crazy fat women trying to be skinny brides, there's an extra savings... so ha!

Nothing with loud exhaust on a toy.
Have a friend with a cgt with strait pipes and IMO its the way the car should have come.
I have a 135i with strait pipes and I rather enjoy it.
Same goes for a boxster for those who want it.
You can't argue that it's obnoxious any more than you can on a cgt, they are both toys.
And if you argue strait pipes on a cgt is silly then you are on the wrong forum :-)

I'm glad I'm not the only one...what's the point of being loud and obnoxious? Mufflers exist for a reason. Nobody wants to hear that crap.

I always enjoy loud cars......our Saab has a 3"from turbo back with only one resonator and nothing else....that thing sounds MEAN under boost! I have a NHP on my 02 's and it is not loud enough, barely louder than stock, I noticed more of an increase in noise from de-snorkeling. my next exhaust is going to be a fabspeed race system, those are about the best I have heard.
