Windshield pitting

I'm curious, does anyone else have a windshield that is heavily pitted? I don't have any cracks in it at all, just lots of pits. When the windshield is clean, and I'm driving into the sun, you can see literally thousands of tiny pits in it. Is this a normal Porsche thing? My '99 Boxster spent the first 4 or 5 years of its life in Arizona. Would that have anything to do with it?

Is there some product I can use to clean the windshield and lessen the visibility of them?

Are they tiny pits or big ones? Tiny ones are usually caused by a lot of sand in the air. The bigger ones would be from small rocks.

Your PO could have been driving in a high construction area every day. That would cause large pits because of all the gravel that's used in road construction.

Sorry, I don't know about any products that can help with it.

The only solution I know of is replacement, which is indicated if vision is impaired. Yes, the pitting is usually sand related, which any of our North East drivers can relate to.
