Transmission oil

Need to replace the transmission oil. Unfortunately i ordered from Pelican but got just a quart. They didn't tell me I needed more! Now I'm thinking maybe I should go with the Swepco oil. A good fellow around here (Porsche owner) has taken up dealership and I bought some Axle grease from him (Swepco 101).

Any experience on the Swepco trans oil? Thanks.

I replaced my factory fill with Swepco 210 almost a year and over 10k miles ago. When its warm, its fine. But to be honest, when its cold its not great. Shifts rougher and even had it grind once when stone cold. Once hot it has no issues. It's the only thing the local shop had in stock so I used it since I had the tranny out and wanted to fill it, but frankly I would go back to stock if I was doing it again.

Stick with stock (OEM) fluid.

Order 2 more quarts from Sunset. About $26/quart. Done deal.

When I bought my car, I changed the gear oil to Mobil 1. When it was cold, 1st to 2nd gear was stiff and balky. Changed it out to Porsche gear oil, smooth as silk. Just use the OEM. Its about $100 but you will probably only change it every 5 years or so.

I ahve always used Valvoline Synthetic 75w90 in my gearboxes / differentials, and that's what I used recently when I changed the 986 gearbox oil. It is working great as usual.

Pull a sample, and send it to Blackstone. Here's my UOA from last year:
