2000 Boxster Running Issues

Wondered if anyone can help me please! I have a 2000 Boxster which has 'issues' when the weather warms up! It runs fine during the winter but as soon as it starts to warm up, the revs are up and down when idling and/or at low revs and at times cuts out completely. I've had the mass air flow sensor changed a few months ago and conflicting information as to whether the ECU needs re-calibrating or not. I have not had this done. Does anyone know what the issue could be or has had experience of this themselves??
