Getting Door Speakers - 986 Forum - The Community for Porsche Boxster & Cayman Owners

I have a 99 Boxster with no door speakers and really need some as the stock sound sucks. Does anyone know if I can place the box set in the doors to make it work. I was looking at these on ebay but the seller does not know if they will work. Has anyone placed door speakers in their car?

Those will not fit without significant modifications. If you compare your door panels to a Boxster with door speakers you will see what I mean. Your door panels were not designed to have speakers. I have a 99' Boxster w/o door speakers too. I also looked into a custom setup for the door speakers but felt it would cost too much.

You are probably better off upgrading the dash speakers and/or getting some put behind the seats:

What color is your interior? I was going to upgrade my boxster with door speakers so I purchase the door panels, grills, and speakers. Now I think I am going to sell my car and don't think I will install them. Any interest?
