Driving music

What do you listen to or suggest?

I like a wide variety of music and I'd like to compile a playlist from your suggestions

One of my go to songs is by Michael Lington: "You and I"

Some Monty Montgomery.

Let's hear it. :D

First thing I listened to whenever I bought a German car was Autobahn by Kraftwerk.

After the headers and Dansk I liked to listen to the engine. However, almost any cut off of Kansas Song for America side 1.
OR if you need some speeding points and an ass chew try: (partial list)

Rush Distant Early Warning

Mellencamp Love & Happiness

Unchained Van Halen

Cracker Low

Almost any Government Mule song

And if obscure is your taste try Umm & Arrgh Anthony Phillips

Deep Purple, Highway Star.
Yup, I'm that old.
One of the best guitar riffs ever too.

There's a techno tune from this Michael Mann (love his stuff) movie with Tom Cruise playing a very un-like Tom Cruise character (anti-hero/villian) that is very Bad-A$$. Collateral I think its called. There's this very violent night-club scene. Crowded dance floor with this tune called Ready Steady Go by Paul Oakenfold. Check it out:

Paul Oakenfold - Ready Steady Go (Korean Style) - YouTube

Miles Davis. Springville - Miles Davis - YouTube

For some reason this Tears for Fears tune is something I love listening to with the top down on a nice scenic road maybe by the ocean:

Tears For Fears - "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" - ORIGINAL VIDEO - YouTube

If you're alone and in a retrospective mood. Nothing beats this Van Morrison
tune Van Morrison- Philosopher's Stone - YouTube

The Dark Knight Theme is haunting, intense The Dark Knight - End Credits Music (HQ) - YouTube

Hendrix, cuz its just bad a$$: All Along the Watchtower - The Jimi Hendrix Experience - YouTube

And if you've got a lady friend with you ? Try this. Chicks dig this tune: Get Here (Oleta Adams) - YouTube

For top down hot summer night downtown cruising : UB40 24/7 -I Shot the Sheriff - EXCLUSIVELY DISTRIBUTED BY WWW.REGGAE-RECORDS.CO.UK - YouTube

That all Me got Mon :D

Thats's really bad !

Ghostrider 310 03-02-2012 03:43 PM

Michael Jackson bad or truly bad? It wasn't for the tune dude it was for the "secret agent" content. Besides, John Whetton is a good musician, cheer up maybe someone will make a hip hop remix so you can relate.

Bluegrass, baby!

landrovered 03-02-2012 03:48 PM

The Porsche is the only car I have ever had that I seldom, if ever turn on the radio. I thought about upgrading it, even added a iphone connection and still don't use it. I'd rather hear the engine.

How 'bout that...I thought I was the only one. I've been turning down JD Crowe at the traffic lights so people didn't know.

I should have gone with my original title that included ".....besides the engine"

:)

Love JD Crowe. A good rule of life is whenever there's a problem, add a little more banjo.

I agree here. No radio for me. The different "tracks" I like are just different RPM ranges. Love the sound of the engine. :)

sailing1 03-02-2012 04:33 PM

Bob Seger!

2003S 03-02-2012 04:57 PM

Lately Grateful Dead, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan...
