Car Cover Recommendations

I apologize if this issue has already been discussed, but couldn't find it in the search. What car covers are you all using? I leave my Box out in the Hot El Paso sun during the day and would like to cover it to help with the sun. Any car cover you guys suggest? I can by the overpriced porsche specific, but didn't know if you all had a cheaper more effective car cover. Brand specific isn't always the best.

I have lots of wax on it, but just want to protect it a little more.

Grassy-ass mi amigos!

Car cover on Black? I wouldn't do that if you paid me!
I have lots of experience with covers. Basically if the car isn't clean don't cover it.
You'll definitely scratch the clear coat on your black car.
So I guess in dry dusty conditions a car cover is not a good idea unless you immeidately cover your after drying it.
I strongly suggest getting a top cover and Raggtopp protectant.
And never leave your car parked with the top down in the blazing sun. You'll fade the black plastic and ruin the leather.
try and get in the habit of using Meguiars NXT spray wax ( I don't usually recommend their products) with a non-microfiber towel with a tufted loop end. I recommend the SOnus Waffle weave towels.

and remember, the less you touch the paint the better.

I use the Klasse all in one right now and am very happy with it, but I was concerned that it was not enough protection. Besides parking the car indoors, is there anything I can do to protect the paint? Will sun even fade black paint?

I'd go with the cockpit cover (waterproof if you can get it). We have the full car cover and my wife never uses it because it's a pain and it takes up too much trunk space. The soft top and interior are what will be damaged the most in a short amount of time.

I'd think the paint will be fine if you keep it waxed well.

Rail26... I too have a Basalt black 987... I've been using a Noah car cover since new... I use a base of Klasse all in one with a final coat of P21S carnauba... Looks terrific... Scratching the finish hasen't been a problem, but I agree with perfectLap, you don't ever want to cover a dirty car, as scratches would be inevitable... I had a Guards Red 986 previously and was very anal about being careful when covering it... If you are willing to take the extra precautions I think a good well fitting cover is worth it, of course if you don't have better options ( a garage, or covered car port etc.)

Sounds good. I garage my baby, but when I'm out at the flightline I can't park it under cover and unfortunately I am usually there from sunup to sundown. I might see if I can bribe the guys and park it in the hangar.
