What is a good top coat wax that I can use over my polish that will leave a lasting shine/protection? My car had a few unsightly light scratches that cover up well with wax but I get tired of doing it all of the time. Hopefully something I can pick up locally at an auto-parts store. I clay bar when necessary and then ussually polish and wax with a carnuba but it doesn't last very long even with wax as you dry every time I wash.

I am using Klasse all-in-one and I absolutely love it! I bought it from Autotopia.com and I couldn't be happier.

Yeah, I'm using the Klasse all in one also. I've been very happy with it.

Slogans is dead on.

Klasse All in One with a random orbital buffer is great stuff.

The Sealant is the crowning touch.

Just a question, how often do you put wax ? Is it safe to put some every time you wash your car? They say you should put some twice a year.

I like the shine from my Zymol polish + Mother's Carnuba but I may have to try this... Maybe use Klasse SG over Zymol. I usually clay every other time I wax. Where is the best place to buy that stuff?

I buy my stuff from Autotopia.com...I have no connection with them and I haven't researched prices, but they sent my stuff quickly and added a few extras things. Customer service was good.

If you're using a quality synthetic such as Klasse AIO, Menzerna FMJ, etc - your protection should last between 4 and 6 months. The Klasse SG may extend that out as long as a year.

If you're using a carnauba-based product, count on about 2 months of protection.

If you're looking for a synthetic that's easier to remove than the Klasse SG, has great durability and also shines just about as well as a quality carnauba, you should check out Menzerna FMJ (Froogle link) - wow.

I've been a die hard Klasse user for years. I usually follow up after about a dozen coats of SG (over 12 days) and use S100 Carnauaba.
S100 lasts a couple weeks a little longer if I use Sonus Carnauba Spritz which I usually use after the weekly wash. I'll reapply the Carnauba after every two or three car washes.

For a really really long lasting shine I actually recommend the Meguiars NXT wax.
I use it on my wheels and it lasts twice as long (at least) as my Klasse All in One applications. Don't know if I can layer NXT over Klasse SG. I'll have to try that.

p.s.
Try Klasse VLRP on your interior. Its excellent on black plastic.
1Z for your dash and tires. makes stuff look new but not shiny

I wouldn't recommend waxing the car every time you wash. The more you touch the paint the more you will swirl and scratch it. If you want a boost after the wash I recommed using a spray wax with a dedicated buffing towel. This means don't buff your car with a microfiber towel. There is a glut of that product on the market right now and all the stores and websites want you to buy it all up.
Autopia sells an excellent Concours buffing towel.
microfiber is for cleaning not buffing, really overkill for a well maintained Porsche.

I recently switched to the Klasse All In One, its some really great stuff for sure! Then a coat of P21S Carnauba , and it glows like red candy! Great stuff, and extremely easy and efficient to use...a little goes a LONG way!

Just detail spray after that!

When you all are waxing...do you use the Mr Miagi special or do you do it differently? For some reason...that just doesn't sound right. Mind in the gutter....

Don't do the Miagi routnie unless you want swirls. Just apply in a motion going from front to back, back to front. Remove whatever you put on with a microfibre towell (cut off the tag if it comes with one). See the pics I just posted in the "Concourse" area.

I've been using Blitz Wax for years - it's durable, can be layered, and provides excellent protection and shine. I rejuvenate with Blitz Show Off in between waxings - every three months. I live in Florida where the sun always shines and have never had a problem with Blitz. It's available directly from the manufacturer or from most internet suppliers.

I used Blitz for a long time. A better than average Carnuba -- P21 is better (IMHO) and not overly expensive. Try it over Klass, Glanz, or Zaino.

However, Carnuba based products do not layer in the sense that synthetic/polymers do. The wax cannot permanently bond with itself like polymers do. The layer will wash off the first wash (if it makes it past the buffing.) The appearance of layering is usually just better coverage so ... two coats looks better because you get better overall coverage, no missed areas thin areas etc.

IMO carnuba almost always looks better than a synth/poly wax intially but is not as durable -- the real advantage of a Synth on a driver.
