Slightly off-thread, but has anybody tried the vacation-driving trips offered through the Porsche website? You can go to Germany, France, Italy etc. and get your choice of Boxster S or Carrera as a rental car. It looks like you go with a group, drive local roads, stay in designated hotels, sample restaurants, etc. Like anything else with the "P" badge on it, it costs more than any equivalent ordinary vacation. Flights not included. But for lunch time surfing it looked amusing. Anybody ever tried one?

Sidebar - I lived in Sardinia for 2 years - would love to have an S on some of the twisty curvies. At the time (1978) I drove a seventeenth century Austin A40 in the natural rust finish. No ignition key, just a short screwdriver to start it. Its theft was only a dream, never a reality. Wires running between the seats back to the fuel pump. It was both slow AND ugly, but never once failed to start or get me where I was going.

I would like to know about those trips also. Planning on being in Italy next summer and would love to have a Boxster with me.
