Looking for 6000K H7 LED Fog Lights
I just installed a HID 6000K headlight kit -- great upgrade.
Now I'd like to change out the fog lights so they are both (1) brighter and (2) match the 6000K color hue of the HID headlights.
I can find LED replacements for the H7 foglights, but they tend to be relatively dim due to the low number of SMD's (like 18).
I found some 120 SMD H7 bulbs, but they are 4800K.
Does anyone have a good link for LED H7 6000K foglights that are bright (i.e. high SMD number)?
Thanks,
Ron

I installed the Stealth HID kit from Pelican with the 6000K bulbs.
Requires no special work except for drilling a 1" hole in the back plastic panel for each unit. I was a initially somewhat reluctant about drilling holes in anything, but honestly it's not a big deal. The hole is required because the ballast is mounted outside of the lighting unit. I did the entire job from start to finish in 45 minutes.
Just make sure you have a drill handy and a 1" wide bit.
The appearance is fantastic: the lights look better when looking at the vehicle, and the way it lights up the road is awesome too.
For $120, it was the best upgrade value possible.

How about these? 6000K 120-SMD HID LED H7 Fog Light Bulbs BMW 528i 540i | eBay
They appear to meet your criteria.
Would be great to have replacement headlights that are LED's for our cars.
Good luck with this one!

I hacked my fogs so they are now daytime running lights and put LEDs in and I was disappointed. First, the LEDs don't give you functional fog lights, they really don't light up the road at all, they just look good. Second, the color of the light was inconsistent. With time, the LEDs on both sides would change color from white to bluish and then back again, and of course, not consistent left to right.
I went to silverstars all around and while they certainly are not 6000k white, they are noticeably whiter than stock.

How many SMD's were the LED's you tried? I see some are down in the 18 range, but the 120 SMD's I'm looking for may generate enough light.

Mine were 120s, but very cheap ($10 shipped) chinese model. If you stand in front of the car, they are very bright, but they just don't focus onto the road the way the stock bulbs do.

Thanks J Tinsby...I appreciate your link! I was curious as to whether the 120 SMD produces enough light to be worth installing.
If not, I guess I need some new halogen bulbs that come close to my 6000K HID's....

Pretty sure all of our lights are the same, right? All H7s, including the fogs? If so, why not try these from Pedro, or maybe even ask him if these will work in the fog fixtures as well?
http://www.pedrosgarage.com/Site_2/TechnoLite_HID.html
It'd also be better if you can use these as your fogs because if you tend to leave them on frequently or constantly, which they're not meant to do, it'll take less of a toll on your headlight cover because the bulbs run a hell of a lot cooler than halogens.
EDIT: Sorry, my first link was wrong. It should be the right one now. I just wonder if Pedro sells the bulbs from this kit separately, or would.

I can't call it a "good" link, but have you looked here already?
Neutral White H7 68 SMD LED Fog Light Bulb
There are pictures of (seemingly) the same bulb here, but in this GTI's fog housing they don't seem very bright at all...
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/H7-LED-Bulbs-Foglight-Fog-p/h7-led-lights-4m.htm
Looks better in the BMW high beam housing.

I was going to change out my footwell lights and trunk and frunk to LED'S. The vendor told me " LED is for cosmetic use, they might look bright when you're directly looking at them but will not project as bright as halogen or HID bulbs."
Bright white YES, brighter in fact, apparently not ;(
So I never bothered to change them out. I want light and more of it and white too, guess I can't have it all.
Hope you find what you need to match the HID's.
I'd be curious to know how Audi get's their LED headlamps to work......

I just replaced all three interior lights in my 03 986 with amber LED's, and I *love* it. It gives in the interior a much nicer feel when opening the doors at night. You can still see everything, but you don't have that glaring white light hitting you in the face when you open the door.
The bulbs are super cheap. Worth trying. Total time to replace all 3 bulbs was under 5 minutes.
