Boxster/996 Cab related side business for sale (Robo-Top)

I am selling Robo-Top, the company that builds one-touch convertible top chips for 986 Boxsters and 996 cabriolets.

Here is our website: Robo-Top, One-Touch Convertible Top Module for 996 Cabriolets and 986 Boxsters, Convertible top module for Boxster and 911 Carrera

I am selling the company because I no longer have time for it. I am an engineering student as well as the Owner/CEO of another larger company.

Here is what would be included:

The website: onetouchporsche.com
The legal formed company
The Robo-Top designs (circuit board designs/schematics)
I'll show you where/how I bought all of the components.
The logo and all pictures associated with the company.
Some packaging materials.
Installation Instruction Documents (to print out and sent to each buyer)

I'll pretty much walk you though everything and show you how I have been running the business.

It's a great side business that doesn't take a ton of time, but yields profit and a lot of fun!

I have a list of 10 people ($800 in potential revenue) who would buy one if they were available, so you have those already waiting for you.

Look here for some customer reviews on the product: http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/27797-robo-top-one-touch-convertible-top-module-easy-install-%2479-95-a.html

If you are seriously interested in buying this business, email me at salem.Tyler@gmail.com and I will give you more details on the company (Price, etc).

Serious buyers only, please.

Tyler

And I've got a house in .......... this is just wrong. Using a forum (where you've recently been hawking your wares anyway) to now post up a company for sale. It's not what I log on to share. Good luck.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say, but if you are implying that I have been 'hawking' Robo-Tops here against the forum rules, that is incorrect. I have been a sponsor here for many months and actually asked the administrator to take my ad down early because I could not devote my time to continuing with the company.

If the moderators do not approve of this thread, then they will let me know.

don't get it - what's wrong with that?
I mean it's not like he's offering jailbroken cellphones or something Boxster unrelated.
He has been a board sponsor and has a legitimate business for which he now does not have the time anymore. What's wrong in offering it for sale in this forum?
I just don't get the outrage.

While I'm not interested in buying the business, please add me to the list of people interested in buying a unit.

kinda off topic,
when I taped over the 18 pin on the relay switch the automatic adjustment of the windows when closing the top stopped working. I had to manual lower them close the top and then raise the windows again. Kinda annoying so I took the tape off.
Is there a way to preserve this convenient feature?

I had the same issue with the windows. I figured that there was something wrong with the microswitch where the latch was, so I ignored/dealt with it.

At the same time, I was having this problem where the red convertible top light on the dash would light up every time I went over a bump.

I knew there was a connection issue somewhere in the convertible system so my first thought was to make sure the relay was ok. It turns out that it was a little bit loose and that it was causing both of the above problems!

Short story shorter, make sure your relay is in there nice and tight.

BTW, I just bent my pin 18 so that it was flat (no tape). It would be easy to straighten out if needed.

Did anyone ever take over this company? I am looking for a RoboTop module and can't find one. The website always says out of stock.

I bought the company.

Sorry, but I've been super busy between launching a new startup business during the week and Boxster Spec racing on the weekends that I haven't had much time to run Robo-Top. I'll get the boys to crank out another 50 units ASAP. Give me a few weeks. Sorry for the delay.
