So then It will look like mine

edit:

And BTW, Pursuit VE is only that, for "pursuit". Once caught, a full squad car is called in if someone is arrested.

We have several local units that do not have roof mounted lights, not Porsche though.

Cool

We have a few BMW's used by the Highway Patrol here in SC... they donated some since they have a plant here.

I've caught and passed one (slowly) on the road. The guy had his hat off, and while the car was painted silver with the stripes and badges like all SC Troopers drive, it had no light bar. That's not unusual though, they have Mustangs, Camaros, and Crown Vics that are completely unmarked. Pretty sneaky, if you ask me!

The strobe units will be either drilled into the healight housing or use one of the existing bulb holes for them.
Not all highway VEs have roof mounted lights. Many use existing healight and tail light housing for the strobes. It makes for a cleaner and undetectable look at night.
IE : you can't tell if its a normal person or cop tailgating you to make you go faster at night. If you can't see a roof mounted lighting system, you would never know if its a cop or not.

The name of the trooper in the OP gave that away. However, I'm not kidding about the Beemers being used here in SC. That is real!
