Stolen Boxster wrecked (Australia)

I certainly hope this 986 didn't belong to anyone here on the forum. Quite a shame. There is a video along with the article.

Fire

That fire looks like a buttload of oil went though the exhaust system. I've seen loads of smoke from an overwhelmed AOS after AX cornering, but not flames.

Keep your eye on Ebay

I expect to see that car for sale shortly online. A little polish and a new rim and she'll be ready to go!

Undoubtedly this was one of the rare Ozzie models that came with an afterburner, as witnessed by the flames..........

What I love about his quite little Sunday drive through the Australian countryside is that not once did he worry about the IMS letting loose.

I'm sure the IMS was the last thing on his mind...after all, he's a diabetic in dire need of sugar. He's just gotta steal a bright colored sports car and evade the very people who can call him an ambulance and get him to the hospital...which is exactly what happened anyways only much later, and after two wrecked cars and one bystander's car getting a mouthful of 17 inch twist + tire.

I wonder how well that excuse would work here...?

I'm selling my right front wheel. Any takers? Seems the car does not need it.

Oh I thought it was a NOS flame coming out. I did hear that they were filming the upcoming Fast and Furious 6 "down under".

Normally I'd be impressed by 10 ft of fire coming out of the tailpipes of just about any vehicle, but in this case you just know it's a bad thing...I wonder if he cracked up the fuel tank at all in that guardrail hit, but if so I imagine that fire would have been pretty consistent rather than a single big shot.

Despite the negative circumstances of this current event, I have to say, gosh the speeding boxster looks good from the helicopter perspective..
