Thanks for the virtual ride-along, Jäger! I'd love to take a trip like that (making a mental note to try and avoid 40, though...), it really looks like a blast! Nearly 6000 miles, and neverminding the impressive mileage already on the car, just sounds like a good time for a few weeks of cruising.

Thanks for the ride along!
I enjoyed reading about your adventures a cross country.
Hopefully one day I'll be able to take a similar trip.

What's the best tip you can give for someone that's taking a long trip?

Don't push it... Give yourself time for the trip. Pick a destination that is about 8 hours or less (make hotel reservations the day before) and spend a lttle time enjoying that pit-stop location. Oh yea, check your spare!
