				Is this a good price?

I found a 2001 Boxster S black with gray interior, stock with 70,000 miles on it at a big well know dealer for $13,900. Is that a good price?
It had 3 owners and all service has been done. Clean carfax. Only thing I could find was a small crack in the rear plastic window lower side (top in perfect shape otherwise).

Trying to figure out if this price is to low and why.

Maybe these cars are getting rare, that could explain why this one is particularly expansive haha. Seriously... put a list of aftermarket parts/kit the owners have mounted on the car... that might be the reason why it is pricy.
Want to hear a good one.... in China a 2001 Box S with a "rolling engine" is worth Rmb300,000 ($46,153). That said buddy. A new one is Rmb850,000 ($130,769)

This is an S which means it has at least $15K in more options plus you the 3.2 liter engine. Never buy a base I say. The top, replaced with A GAAH with glass window will run around $1,500. A Porsche installed one about $4,000. Yeah, we the car is this old you look for after market when you can...the GAAH is the best. Since they have all the records and maintenance history should be a good buy. Me, I would try and buy it,say, $13,500 out the door...that includes sales tax, tag/title fee and anything else they try to add. And say CASH.

That was a decent price. KBB is around $14,800 for very good condition. The asking price really depends on what the dealer paid on the trade-in and how fast they want to move the car (cheaper always sells faster). There are a lot of Boxsters for sale right now and its a buyers market in this economy.
The only way to know the actual condition of the car is to have a Pre-Purchase Inspection done at a local Porsche shop or dealer. Be sure to get one if you find another car that you really like. Its the only way to know what you're really getting into.

For future reference, if the top is in good shape and the window is cracked, you can replace just the window itself.

				Great price, no.

Just sold my 3-owner '01S with 58k miles in perfect condition with new PS2s, etc for $13.5k cash no warranty. You are in a more expensive area but bargains are to be had just 4 months from now. Be patient, there are thousands for sale and a motivated seller is your friend as are the white flakes falling from the sky.

I bought in the snow in NOVA

Sold in the 90s in Sanford.
I priced it low because of my out of the way location. Ended up fighting off buyers who wanted me to wait till they got here. Gone in 3 hours. Which told me I priced it too low but I was getting on in years and just wasn't using it much even though it was nice weather so it was always in the way. Now all the cars fit in the garage and aren't out under a huge tree with bird cr_p all over them..
