Let's See Your Tails

I'm considering adding a spoiler/wing to my Box. If you have an aftermarket spoiler, wing or ? please post up photos. So........let's see those tails and please post make and model.

Scary title indeed bro!

Regardless, check out what this guy did with his Box... another member here (j.fro) confirmed that it is a factory Porsche Aerokit II wing. Been trying to get one myself.... hard to find. The best of all imo, looks clean mate.

Will that Aerokit II spoiler fit a 987?!

I'm not one for radical rear spoilers . Especially on a vehicle that puts out less than 300 hp. Rather incongruous to the boxster if you ask me. I believe that the Cayman that's pictured in this thread has a turbo system installed.

Wink

I see your point but don't believe a spoiler indicates HP or anything other than a physical accoutrement. The bum on the Boxster sometimes looks barren to me and great at others. I'm seeking to view all possible options out there and most don't look so great unless mounted on the rear of a car. I too would never put a "wing" or other overly large tail on the back of the fine auto of which we speak. But even a peacock benefits at times from wonderful tail feathers.

I like my tail spoiler. Simple, understated; yet nice .

AS OP said, PLEASE POST MAKE AND MODEL!

I think that the one that Danger posted is exactly what I am looking for. What does it look like deployed? I don't like the ones that I have seen that look like Danger's when down, but when deployed look like a wing on two long bolts...

You might like this one also. It's a Techart style stationary wing .

You should check out this link. They have a variety of spoilers and wings for the 986. Their prices are reasonable, and the quality is decent . They also sell on eBay .

Hi Pedro,

Love the black numbers in the photo. From an eBay source?

Cheers,

I just installed the turbo look spoiler from Elite Spoilers. They painted it and it is a perfect match.

I'm not sure about this spoiler. I love the way it looks when it is down. I just wonder if the effectiveness of the spoiler is compromised because of the missing flat piece under the spoiler lip?

If you've noticed, none of the aftermarket spoilers, especially the ones that are being offered by high end "tuners" incorporate the solid/flat section as the oem one does. I don't pretend to be an expert when it comes to aerodynamics, however, I suspect that there's a benefit to a spoiler that's designed to create downforce by allowing air to pass over, under and through it . Take for example the spoiler designs on Carrera GT, 997 GT 2 and 3 vehicles, not to mention most F1 cars . All of them follow a similar design principle .

I got this exact same spoiler sitting in the garage if anyone is a taker. Make me an offer and I'll revert back with shipping cost... normally $30 to $40 International Priority Air Mail w/ tracking (less than 2 kilos).

Primed already and clean, ready to spray. If you are lazy you can pass on your porsche color code and I can get it sprayed and clearedx3 by a mate here.

All good fun only, no silly offer please!

edit: fiberglass
