Just for my own understanding: These are just for the optics - right?
It seems to me that my Boxster suffers rather from too much lift at the front at high speeds (120+ mph), meaning a rear wing would make this actually worse by adding downforce to the rear (think of a seasaw) So I am actually looking for an (affordable) solution to push the front down Any suggestions? |
Do like the pros and go with a GT3 style bumper with a splitter and canards. Not the look good kind but the racing kind like this...

Chris, I see from your signature that you already know this so disredard the above transmission. The PIA aspect ( to some ) regarding the humps, isn't shared by me. I drive a Wrangler when not in the Boxster and am used to removing the top when traveling in good weather. Installing and removing the humps is less time consuming than a soft top so it's no issue for me at all. In fact it's actually fun as I can put on the humps and leave them on in the garage as long as I want before taking them off. |

I finally got around to installing my tail from my factory Aero II kit and figured that I'd jump into this thread. The biggest pain in the neck is routing the wires for the 3rd brake light.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...x/IMG_0131.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...x/IMG_0129.jpg I'm pretty much completed with the car except for the rims. (I still think that the car looks goofy with the stock 17's:p!) But good news... I just received an update that they've finished the machining process and are now in the finishing stage then onto assembly. Hopefully I'll have them as soon as next week! |

That's why I opted for the non-lit version. I didn't want to tap into any wiring. |

Here is an add-on to the stock front bumper that looks like it would develop some down force up front.
http://i16.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/a9/74/5505_3.JPG I've been thinking of a rear spoiler for racing and I wonder if there is measurable down force from what looks like mostly cosmetic spoilers. It should really be adjustible for tuning purposes. That Cayman style spoiler that raises looks virtually useless since its so small/narrow. I also wonder what sort of upgraded trunk pistons are required to deal with the extra weight of some of the spoilers. Here's my tail. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-a...0/CIMG3364.JPG |
