Windscreen latch repair help

Ok, I need to replace both latches on the rollbar as well as on one side of the widescreen itself. Does anyone have a step by step process for doing this?

drill out the rivets that hold the broken latches on. Let the piece fall inside.
Go hardware store, buy a cheap pop rivet gun (10$), and some pop rivets.
Place the new hardware on, pop rivet it. trim to length.
done

The latch on the windscreen can not be replaced as a separate piece. check ebay and get a cheap replacement.

How do you remove the old ones? Do you rivet from the bottom? Sorry Doc I am an complete newbie when it comes to repairs.

The dealership didn't even want to fool with it when it was in for an air bag check. I casually mentioned it to the service manager and he started talking about removing the covers, taking it apart, about $200 was his guess.

you just drill the old rivet out. A small piece will fall inside and you are done.

otherwise break off the old one and pull the rivet off, careful not to damage the paint.
