Most Beautiful Design ?
 

Aside from the boxster being the most beautifully designed automobile ever ;) , what others are worth mentioning ? To me, the Lamborghini Miura marks one of the most gorgeous vehicles of all time .

Is being yellow a coincidence?

They are beautiful cars.

Gotta vote for the '68 to '76 Ferrari Dino.

E-Type, 356 Speedster and Shelby Cobra for me.

We could mention the XKE Jag, or perhaps the 1957 Corvette? 550 Spyder anyone?

I've never found Porsches to be beautiful, especially the 911. Some are cool looking, like the Boxster concept, the 904 and the 959, but not in a curvy, feminine way, like the Italians do it.

My vote would go to the 35/36 Auburn Speedster as the most beautiful awesomely-breathtaking car ever. In blue, please.

2nd place would go to a late-20's Bugatti Racer. Gotta be green.

After that, any of the Dusenbergs.

Put a roof on the Boxster and you have the Cayman that has a distinctive style all its own. I'd also vote for the CGT....

No offence to all the grand pa out there but as much as I try to dig old models, the modern cars are winning by far ;) Here goes a Zonda (Pagani)... that thing was spinning on our circuit a few weekends ago. Insane quality, worth a few million$

It seems that most of the cars listed so far
 

are vintage supercars and exotics and part of what makes them beautiful at least in some cases is that they are so atypical to what you see on the street on a daily basis...it is the "exoticness" (just coined the word) that in part makes them attractive. I am going to break with tradition somewhat and go with a few that are a bit more pedestrian.

Datsun 240Z...lowered slightly with a pair of panasport mini lites, rocker decals, and with a 70's orange, yellow, or green paint color. The lines are vaguely similar to a ferrari 250 gto. No spoilers, no bodykits...just the way it left the factory.

2nd Generation 1990-1996 Nissan 300ZX...The 2 seat version...the 2+2 is a mistake IMO. I owned one for 6 years before the boxster and it was a great car. People were always asking me what it was and never could believe it was a 15+ year old design. The arch of the side/quarter window is unique and the car has a very muscular stance even though it is pretty much slab sided with no fender flares. Automobile I think voted it as one of the 25 most beautiful cars of all time. Regret selling it every day.

Karmann Ghia...hard to explain...it just looks like so much more than a VW.

Porsche 993 series...any of the series are awesome but like many the twin turbo reigns supreme in my heart.

You don't want to see this car in person NOR hear it reving-up believe me... I had issues sleeping on that same night :/ I was in the front crowd when the picture you advertised was taken haha! Was at the our last auto-show (small world!). They rev-ed that babe at 10k+ rpm right there on the podium (i.e. indoor). Sick ********************

One of the most overlooked and beautiful cars ever made was the 1967 Toyota 2000GT.

The Miura is a gorgeous car too.

No offense...?? I take great offense... and I'm not even a 'grand pa'. There is no cause to inject age into the topic, unless you're that insecure about your own age.

I (and many others here) lived through the Golden Age of the automobile (1955-1975), got my license smack in the middle of it. At the same time, your people were riding bicycles, chanting, waving around little Red books and shooting people for listening to Beatles records or drinking a Coke!

You punk-ass youngster don't know the first thing about cars, and your statement about the Pagani Zonda proves it (and FYI, it's not even a Pagani in your pic).

The Zonda is a capable car, even an extremely capable car. But one of the most beautiful of all-time...?? Hardly, and it shows how easily your generation can be lured by the power of Marketing, and reject anything produced before 1990 without even trying to keep an open mind.

Sorry mate, I'm not Chinese and didn't know about this. I just happen to be temporarily relocated in Shanghai, China for professional reasons. Next posting will be in 2016 in Madrid, Spain. Life in a suitcase unfortunately.... but just not big enough for all the cars out there :/

While I'm not a grandpa by a long shot, I've been to Meadow Brook Concours 2 years ago and was taken back by how beautiful all the classic cars were back in the day. It was a time when you had to be big & bold. I see airplanes the same way... nothing beats the sound of a V12 Merlin engine in a Spitfire or Mustang.

In terms of asthetic beauty, I just don't think anything can match the beauty of
European sports cars of the 1950s and 60s. I hate to say I'm down on American
cars, but I just don't like muscle cars. Just don't like the looks of them and the
mindset behind them. Call me a Euro Sports Car Snob I guess :D

Other than a Shelby Cobra, or a vintage Vette, American cars just don't do it
for me. :barf:

I think the thing that drew some of us to the Porsche Boxster (besides it being a Porsche),
is its combination of a vintage European sports car look with a little bit of exotic mixed in.

the Cayman grows on me more and more every time I see one, especially in Silver)
