No air conditioning in UK spec '01 Boxster

Dear Enthusiasts,
I recently moved to Asia and bought myself a used Boxster from the UK. I've owned a 99 for the longest time during my stay in the US. However, I failed to recognize the different air-conditioning console when test driving it in the UK. This one has a manual "blower" but nowhere do I see a button to get cold air. Is this just something that comes with a UK spec car? Is it possible to now put in an air-cond unit? Please advise and thanks in advance.

AC delete is an option. you may have simply bought a car without AC.

if you want to add AC, i am getting ready to delete the entire system from my track car.....

If I remember correctly. UK cars come standard without AC fitted - it was an extra $ cost addition.
Climate control was an extra, extra $$ cost addition.
