I brought it home put it in the garage, set the parking brake, everything is off, key is out of the ignition, the top is down. However, when I open the driver's door, the chime starts dinging. Why?

TIA
At 60K, my 2¢ guess would be that you need a new ignition switch. The car thinks the key is still in the switch when you open the door.
