I laughed pretty hard when I saw this because I pictured someone throwing a full milkshake in the car and the alarm going off.
The red clip a plastic piece that gets put in the same place your roof hooks into when you close it. When you put the roof down, you put the red clip in it's place and it makes the cars sensors think that the roof is up and when you lock the car it engages the in-car sensors.
It is a cheap for what it does. I use mine a little but I could live without it. For what it costs it is nice to have when you want it. Would look better in black.
