I've had P1126 on my 01' Boxster S......only one side showing off....shop said it was the MAF. They spent awhile trying to figure out why only one side showed as off...but at the end of the day the MAF voltage was way low and bad so it had to go and with it went the CEL.

I did try and clean my maf. ....the codes came back
so I bought a new one from pelican
code went away. ..but then came back again after 200 miles
Sometimes would show only 1128...clear it
then other times both would show up 1126/28
this all happened within a month
then I got 0102 & 1126/28
but I just replaced the maf? ??
now looking @ other possibilities like AOS
I will change O2 sensors if I have to
but just checking other routes 1st

@dale k.....try AOS 1st and c what results u get
maybe what I've stated might help in ur diagnosis

Ok. ...other forum ppl mention that the AOS
when it starts to fail, has oil on top of intake
where the hose goes.

Another mentioned about taking the oil cap off at idle
still trying to find that thread on here
Something about if it runs rough with out cap means
one thing...have to find it again

Others have mentioned to take the AOS line off the intake
and vent it into a catch bottle as they do in race track application

Things I will try when I get a chance
then decide whether to replace AOS

Of course if this does't fix the 1126/28 cell
then I'll b looking for some more input from forum members

If the oil filler cap won't remove when your idle then it more then likely means your AOS sucks.

i still have a nagging 1128 occasionally, but i replaced my AOS last year.

mine is caused (i believe) by a small exhaust leak. i'm not familiar with the 1126 code so I'm not 100% sure what that means.

– Intake system leaking.
– Fuel pressure too low.
– Fuel injectors contaminated.
– Volume supply of fuel pump too low.

On my 1126 code... I've checked the AOS by opening the oil cap while the motor was running. There was no excessive vacuum and possibly my thread title might be confusing. What I meant was to raise the question about intake vacuum leaks, such as the bellows of the AOS, would tend to affect the right bank more than the left.

I bought a propane torch yesterday and my plan is to search for an intake leak tomorrow by running the propane (unlit) around the AOS area and everywhere else I can reach with the motor running and listen for the rpm to rise. I'll update this thread after the leak detection attempt.
