Headlight installation

Hi folks, I tried searching for this but didn't come back with enough info.

Passenger side headlight unit is loose. I can't figure out which position the retaining bar needs to be in before sliding the headlight back in. Anyone able to help with this? I didn't want to break it by accident.

I just replaced my amber headlights with clear ones. As I recall, the "bar" part that is under the headlight unit was in the upright position when I slid the light in. It then turns 90 degrees to lock the light unit in place. Doesn't look right, but that's what worked.

I've been fighting this for days and nothing seems to work. I follow the directions in the Bentley and even the ones from the Bombay Digital site, no dice. The bar only does 180 degrees on the bottom half - is it supposed to actually be "up"?

Trying to not have my headlight fly out. Thinking the locking bar may be broken, as when I follow directions it just spins.

It is possible that it might be broken.
You should compare the bits on the right headlight to those on the left.
Or, you might not have it properly in a channel.

When you turn the handle to lock it in place, it should pop fairly loudly to tell you that it locked in.

BC.

This is important (ask me how I know!) Make SURE that the light fits in both channels or you could be in deep expensive doo doo! You may even break the connection tower on the back of the headlight housing. You do not want to have this happen.

That's the weird thing. It does pop loudly, but I can still pull the darn thing back out. It also fits in flush, and right now it's seated properly (no gaps or odd angles). Just that I can't get it to lock in place. The bar doesn't come "up", only rotates 3-to-9 o'clock clockwise (9-to-3 counter). I'm thinking that it just "pops" when it hits resistance and doesn't finalize the process when it's turned.

I guess I will need to try the left headlight to compare it, just partially afraid I'll somehow mess that one up.
