Anyone have XM?

I had XM built into most of the cars I used to own and I really do miss it in the box. Has anyone installed the small headunits in an inconspicuous place? How's it working? Did you run it through the cigarette outlet or hardwire it? How's that done? How's the sound?

Thanks all!

that means you probably have a CDR-220 which has an AUX input (well it's either AUX input or CD changer, you need to buy the adaptor (less than $20) from Becker.
The reason why I am asking is that I had an external XM receiver and never got any good sound quality through the FM modulator. With the AUX input you get great quality
I had the XM receiver below the radio in the cubby and had the power adapter inside the center console hidden for a clean look. I got the power for the adaptor from the 4 prong power outlet inside the center console.
The best placement for the XM antenna is below the front cowl next to the battery

Even though that was already a relatively clean setup I eventually replaced the CDR-220 with a Pioneer AVIC unit.

Let me know if you need more details, I need to find all the links in some old posts
