I wrestled with that exact same dilemma. I have a grey interior and couldn't decide whether to replace the seats with grey, black, or a combination of the two. I ended up going with the solid black sport seats, and I'm glad I made that call, both for the color and the move up from the standard seats.

I've since seen a few Boxsters with two-tone seats and, I can't put my finger on it, but there is some thing that's just not "right" about the way they look. Perhaps if there was an accent color piping, for instance black frames, grey centres, and red piping, it might look better. I dunno... you can never go wrong with all black either.

Porsche has an option called "alternate stitching" or a term similar to that. I've seen it in a speed yellow car with black seats and yellow stitching and a guards red car with black seats and red stitching.

To me, it gave a nice highlight in an otherwise all-black seat. To me, a two-tone seat would call too much attention to itself.

Wow, that's a really good price you're being quoted over there. Here in the USA, having one seat redone is upwards of $600.

If I were you, I'd go with the same color leather as your dash and doors but use deviated stitching in the exterior color of your car or red or yellow if the exterior is black like the interior.

But that's just me.
