tail light rear fog question

I noticed last night that my passenger side tail light and fog light have gone out. I replaced the bulbs today, but still nothing.

Can anyone tell me which fuse I need to check? anyone have any experience with this happening before?

Thanks

Kyle

Uhhhh.... There is only 1 Rear Fog Light on the Boxster and it is supposed to be on the Driver's side.

Being on the Driver's side serves two functions:

1. On a curved road, the light on the Driver's side is the most visible, or disappears last on a curve.

2. It tells a trailing driver which side of the car is safe to pass on - that there is still road to that side.

Because the Boxster is essentially an ROW platform, there is a provision for the passenger side bulb for other market sales, but in the US, it's not wired in.

Cheers!

Ok! Thanks. Still have passenger side tail light out. Blinker, brake light, reverse light is working.

Kyle

Well, the taillight uses a set circuit to direct current to the individual lights instead of actual wires. This is similar to the circuitry on a Printed Circuit board. The plug distributes current to these circuits.

First make sure that there is current flowing to the plug using a DMM or test light.

Next, make sure the plug is seated firmly and that the contacts are clean and not corroded.

Finally, be sure no debris has entered the light and shorted the circuitry or that these circuits are not broken or corroded.

The problem likely lurks in these. If still no-joy, suspect the headlight switch.

Cheers!
