Obviously there was no planning in that photo....

I got a few miles to catch up to you! (my 944 does have 240,000 miles though)

I had ...

... a porous block engine which was replaced by Porsche at 23,000 miles.
Of the 200,000 miles on the odometer 18,000 have been hard track miles, all on the "new engine".
I recently (at 196K) replaced the clutch for the first time, put in a new rear main seal and did the intermediate shaft retrofit as well as a the master and slave cylinders for the hydraulic system.
I have used 18 sets of rear street tires and 11 sets of fronts.
I've also gone through 9 sets of track tires.
I can't keep up with how many brake rotors and pads I've replaced (because I swap pads at the track).
Oh, and I've done 38 oil and oil filter changes and 49 brake/clutch flushes.
I've never replaced a wheel bearing or a suspension component (except the lowering springs) and the coolant reservoir is the original one.
She's been very good so far.
I can't complain.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Congratulations Pedro! How many more are left in that little white beast?? Missed you at Boxstoberfest but I'm sure you'll have fun at SEMA.

Bit disappointed not to see a 200mph at 200k.

I seriously hope mine has the same maintenance record, that is just phenomenal.

Curious if the butt dyno has noticed any lost oomph? Or if the old M96 still feels about as good as it did before?

Congrats, I love mine and would love to get 200k out of this car too.

Wow those photos took alot of planning, and risk at 150mph!!!

So you changed the oil and filter about 38 times, that's approx every 5000 miles. Interesting.

Most of my cars, I change oil every 4 months about 3-5K miles. This car had a 15000 mile interval. So I have been changing it once a year 10-12K. After this thread I think i will just change it along with my other cars every 4 months.

It was a tough decision...

... not to go to Boxstoberfest this year.
But SEMA should be interesting and hopefully rewarding.
See you next year!
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

I wish the car could...

... come close to 200 mph.

It really hasn't lost any oomph at all.
At the short tracks I can keep up with the 996s and 997s.
I've won my PCA AX Class 3 years in a row, so it still pulls very hard.
I recently did a leakdown test and the worst was cylinder 2 at 96%,

Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

I started every...

10,000 miles in the beginning.
But when I moved to Florida and started driving it on a daily basis (2000) and tracking it almost on a monthly basis I started to change the oil between 3,000 and 4,000 miles.
It's worked well.
Initially it was Mobil 1 10W40 and after 90,000 miles it's been Mobil 1 15W50.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro
