Boxster clutch Question.

I have the opportunity to buy a New Sachs Clutch for my boxster for $200.

The Clutch has been sitting on the guys shelf for 6-7 years becasue he sold the car before he ever installed the clutch.

Question is:

Can any damage be caused to the clutch if it has sat on a shelf for 7 years?? corrosion, rust etc.....

anything I can check on it before I pay him?

Make sure it LOOKS brand new and then only pay him $150

If it was poorly stored, you could have problems, but no, there are plenty of cars with clutches that have been installed for 2 decades that work just fine.

Parts like that usually do not go bad on the shelf...now if the self is in his tin shed in very hot and humid area it will be very rusty and the disk will not function as it should. Buyer beware.
