The speedometer reads about 8% high (e.g., speedometer reads 60 mph while gps says I'm really going 55). I guess the odometer uses the same information and is also about 8% exaggerated. I get this degree of error comparing trip odometer read-outs to google map calculations of the same routes.

So while the odometer reads 100,000, I reckon the car has travelled only about 92,000 miles! I'll have to take another photo at 108,000...

speedometer

The speedometer on my 2000 base boxster with 17" wheels matches dead on with my Garmin gps speedometer other than a couple second time lag when changing speed.

Of course, they may both be off.

The odometer is spot on, the speedo usually reads about 3 mph high. Your real speed can be read on a PST2 or Durametric (by a passenger of course).

Great to hear of so many high mileage Boxsters. Mine has 107K, I use it daily and drive it 50 miles to work 5 days a week.
