locking woes

Anyone has anyy insight on this:

As of lately my car has several issues with the central locking system:
* From time to time (while I am driving) the lock suddenly engages (the red light on the button for the central lock goes on)
* If I then press the unlock button sometimes the car unlocks again and sometimes gives two short blares with the horn
* As of one week ago BOTH remotes stopped working (or let's say it better the car stopped responding to both remotes). I changed both batteries in the remotes, the LED in the remotes blink when I press any of the 3 buttons but nada

any ideas?

Mine was doing the same thing. Its the Door Lock Mechanism. It has a microswitch inside the door that cant be replaced except if you replace the whole mechanism. Mine is currently on its way.

Mine started with the lock on the dash just like you and then after a few weeks of that the drivers window started shuttering up and down when you would open the door making it hard to close the door if the window was not dropped down.

Also my drivers door had issues locking everytime from outside the car with the key. It would lock sometimes and other times it would not.

Hope this helps.

I ordered my part last week and am waiting for it any day now. I will give you the info once I get the part cuz I cant remember it right now. Should be a easy DIY. I have taken the switch/Door Lock out already and put it back in and it worked for a few days. But now I am replacing it.
