my buddy said he could do the rms and Ims and clutch for $500 + cost of parts.

I think if the guy will come down to $3k for it I will buy it.

Worse case ...... The motor blows and I part it out

I assume there is a decent market for used parts from this car?? Even body panels gotta sell for decent money?
