Oil Filter Socket Wrench Question

Going to change the oil for the 1st time since getting '98 Boxster and getting all the parts together.

I see PP sells a genuine Porsche Oil Filter Socket Wrench for $35+ and was wondering if there is a generic socket that can be used.

Any help will be appreciated
