A friend sent me this link the other day. It was kind of interesting to see all the manual processes and fitting work required to overcome the variation in body panels.

That's great but that's also what caused Porsche to go broke.

Porsches are still partly hand assembled. Watch the Ultimate Factories episode, you'll be even more amazed.

They sure don't make em like that anymore! After Porsche nearly went bankrupt in the 90s, and then learned from the Japanese how to run an efficient car plant, Porsche was, for many years during the 2000s, the most profitable car company in the world. We all know what happened next
