Where I live in Perth, Western Australia there are a lot of Italians who like their personalised plates. I have seen 2 examples that managed to somehow get by our equivalent of DMV. They were STU CUTS and FUN COOL. From my limited knowledge of Italian they phonetically translate to more or less F*** that! and Get F*****!

Just an amusing tidbit, not sure if I would like them on my car, but each to their own.

Vanity plates however are well known for their witty and stylish names
and conversions of numbers and alphabets
and thus many youngsters and celebrities love to get one for their vehicles.

It looks as if I will be moving out of state for a job this summer. I am actually stoked to be moving to a state with one plate and to not have a personalized one anymore. Not that it's bad ... I just don't want to attract any more attention than I need to.

That said, I hope you get one that you like. Some of them are fantastic and hilarious!

good luck on the move! see that is what I want something fun. but at the same time I cant cater to all groups cuz not everyone is going to get the meaning. but if the AX guys like ill be happy. or other PCar owners. or car lovers that type of thing. thats why you have to give props to those plates you see that are just really awesome because it isnt easy coming up with something original.

A lawyer friend of mine gave me some advice once. Never get a vanity plate on your car.

"Did you see the guy speeding through your neighborhood?"

"Yes he was in a yellow sports car"

"Well ma'am there are a lot of yellow sports cars out there"

OR witha vanity plate...

"Did you see the guy speeding through your neighborhood?"

"I did not get a good look at the car but the tag was IMFAST"

So I got a generic tag on my yellow boxster.

To fast & danger, when you get pulled over do you feel the plates negate some of your pleading leverage?

I once saw this one and thought it was funny:

DOGIN U

Well I can't speak for Danger, but personally, I think if you happen to be pulled over by a jerk cop who just wants to ticket a guy in a Porsche, it don't matter if you have a personal plate or not. I've been pulled over by nice cops too, who even just let me off on a warning because I was courteous in demeanor when pulled over. It just depends what kinda cop you run into.

I just choose to have a personal plate because I don't want some state agency dictating what letters and numbers to put on my car.
