Wouldn't you really want the LED type strip lights

http://www.pedrosgarage.com/Site_2/TechnoLite_LED_DRL.html or wire the fogs to be on any time the motor is on. http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/mods/drl/

Garage
I hadn't seen Pedro's kit before, it looks nice but it also looks like his kit is blocking a significant amount of the radiator (a third of it) which is definitely going to increase your Boxster's operating temperature.

I did this last summer for $10 with two 12 LED waterproof strips off eBay ($5) attached to the radiator grills with all-weather adhesive ($2) (that has been fine for the last year in sun, rain and snow, and at highway speeds), then a ground wire to the inside of the trunk by the headlight, and a power wire ($3) to the only switched power source in the front of the car, the phone plug under the center console.

All of these DRL LED kits require the same amount of time to install since you must remove the bumper, you just have to decided if you want a $200 kit ($160 on eBay) or to DIY for $10. You can see some pictures and more details on my website.
Whiteson's DIY is also a great option that takes about two minutes. I used it for a while then opted for the LED's because I like the way it looks.

I 'think' that for the running light to be accepted they should be 'DOT'.. you can't juste put any LED there and pass it as a DRL :P
