Out of storage yet guys and gals????

So, my baby has been sitting with a battery maintainer and a cover on her for over three months in the garage... it's going to be close to 50 tomorrow here in Northern Illinois... what do you think? Every year I go through the same thing... I always say I'm going to wait until its 60, but man... I want to drive it! I think I'm going to go for it!

I'll have the Boxster out in about 2 weeks.

Today, and this weekend, I'll do about 300-400 miles in the 993 Turbo. She got washed & waxed yesterday. Already signed-up and paid for a DE at Gingerman (April) and Blackhawk (May) for the Turbo. I need to learn to tame +408 HP!

OK, it is gonna be 50 out by the end of the day

but what was the temp overnight and what is the temp of the pavement? And what kind of tires do you have? Cold pavement means cold tire compound which means not as effective in gripping the microscopic imperfections in the road surface and that translates into lots less traction.

Drive carefully.

Hey I'm from Northern Illinois originally too - Rockford, but live in the montains of Colorado now. I'm jones-ing for my Boxster, but the road I live on is still covered in snow and ice and I wouldn't be able to climb the hill to get back to my house if I took it out. It will be at least another month for me .

It hit 50 for the first time in northern Colorado on Tuesday. I brought the Boxster out as fast as I could get the tires deflated and the battery re-attached!

I like to wait until it rains so that the roads get cleaned off a little, but I usually can't hold off if the weather's warm.

it will be a few more weeks here. It will be close to 50 also, but i only have 2 wheels on the car. The other two are getting repaired, so even if i get the itch, i can't take it.

I still have to replace the aos and flush the coolant.

I'm originally from De Kalb but moved to Colorado in '87. I drive my Boxster all Winter unless the snow gets too deep! This car does amazingly well in the white stuff.

I'm sitting in an airport terminal on my way home from a 2-week trip. For 3 weeks prior to my departure I was unable to drive my Boxster due to ice and snow. I have summer tires and I just didn't feel like taking a risk. So, the car has been sitting for 5 weeks.

This is probably the longest period that it has gone un-driven. I have it on a battery maintainer, so I expect it to start. Since I normally don't let the car hibernate, do you northern owners have any tips for the first drive tomorrow?

I'm about 2 weeks away from pulling Nicole out of the garage. I hope we get some rain first to wash away the salt.

I'm in Valpo, over in NW Indiana. Drove mine to the office today. I've actually had mine out few times over the winter. If it's nice, no salt on the road and decent temps, I'll get mine out.
