I do not know of any way to directly adjust the main latch above the shifter on either the hardtop or soft top. However, you can adjust the hardtop to sit more forward by having someone push the top forward as you adjust the screws above the latches. I am not sure about the soft top but you can adjust it. If you have a good fit and seal, but are just concerned with making it better a lot of people (including myself) like to use Gummi Pfledge to protect and 'puff' up the seals and keep water out.
Do a search for more adjustment details, I have described adjusting the hardtop in more detail before.
