Cool SLR Motorsports CHIP

I just purchased a new chip and the instructions say I need to locate the IAT Sensor on my 2004 Boxster S. Does anyone know where that is?

The computer box is in the trunk of the Boxster, I've been looking at flashtuning as of late and most replace a chip in the box. Alternate devices such as unichip appear to run in tandem or as a piggy back, the universal nature and ebay ubiquity makes me cross such items off the list immediately. Best advise always is to refer back to the seller, if they don't provide accurate tangible data, then I would forget about that particular chip.

Any 'chip' that requires you to splice into your IAT harness is worthless. It is just a resistor inside. The idea is that it will trick your PCM into thinking the Intake Air Temp (IAT) is cooler and the PCM will compensate by dumping more fuel in. However, because the pre-cat O2 sensor sets fuel trims under closed loop you won't see anything from this unless you're under WOT (open loop) or at startup (open loop)....and even then it will just run a little more rich.

Garage
There's a beautiful Versace tie for sale on Ebay. You should have bid on that instead.

It is right inside the lid of your garbage can. Attach chip, close lid, save engine.
