CEL + Brake Wear = ?

I was driving the other day and the CEL and the Brake WEar came on at the same time. Now i would think that they are related? but if there is a Brake Wear light why would they need to have it trigger CEL? does anyone know if Brake Wear will light the CEL? im going to bring it to autozone tomorrow and have them read and clear the codes. but some advanced knowledge is always good. Either way guess its time for some new pads

possibly REDSTUFF?

hmm

so the brake wear apparently cannot trip the CEL. it is running fine and it is a solid CEL not blinking. Autozone no longer (at least here) wont check the codes and the porsche dealer wants me to bring it in for an inspection... any ideas where to get the codes read at?

dealer mechanics advise was just to drive it and see if it goes away...

Go back to AutoZone and buy the code reader. I gave $60 for a Actron CP9125. That's cheaper than walking in the front door of the dealer. And it works on all cars (after 1996).
