oops

pulled in for some gas, hit a patch of ice, the ABS kicked in but I couldn't avoid a high curb and the front left went right over. Had to call my new extended Warranty company to get their road side assistance to get me off the curb. Wheels were spinning. Tow guy arrived in five minutes and pulled me backwards with the winch. Nice curb rash.
Now I'm at the dealer because the alignment is off, $150. They replaced the parking switch that was keeping my top from retracting $125 (part $4). They are doing a top down inspection $90 since my New Jersey mandated used car 6 month powertrain warranty expires in may. Total wallet damage approx $400.

Well I have to say this is the nicest service dealership I have ever been in (Ray Catena Mercedez, Porsche, Lexus, Aston Martin, Maserati, Lexus, Infiniti). They have 7 internet stations with these nifty Sony Vaios. A pool table, Plasma TV, Another room with a 60 inch LCD, A kitchen with free drinks, sandwiches and brownies, An 2005 SLK AMG in the middle of it all, and two brand new black Aston Martin Vantage and 997(with ugly headlights) right behind me. Most importantly the cleanest marble-floored restroom I've seen in years. Been here for 5 hours.

Each customer is assigned a service rep who comes out to give you an update and let's you knlow when the car is done. And they wash your car

For what one pays for cars purchased and serviced there, they should wipe your backside as well!

My Lexus dealership's service area is like that... I used to go there instead of Starbucks to work on my laptop because my service guy told me he was encouraged by management to invite customers to come over and hang out anytime, even when they didn't need service.

The right to buy this is on Ebay for $100K, delivery Sept. 2005
The List price is $475K and apparently there are only 200 in the U.S.

When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

I don't get that SLR.. Don't see quite what all the fuss is about.. It's kind of ugly, it has the engine in the wrong place, and there are faster cars around.
