Front end height

Hi there,

So, can anyone out there tell me why the front end of a US Boxter is 4 cm higher than those in the rest of the world? Is there a real reason? I'm feeling a bit front end up in the air when I look at my car on the flat....

Also, is there a way to bring it down the ROW standards without replacing the whole suspension - not that I'm opposed to this idea, its just a bit expensive to drop in coil-over Bilsteins at present.

Thanks,

Roger

US Boxster/Cayman models come with a very high ride height when stock; great if you're into four wheeling. You can easily lower the car with a spring change and leave everything else the same.

I had H&R Sport Springs installed on my '02 and it lowered the car about 1.5" from stock. Very effective solution and reasonable cost.

RoW is 2 cm lower in the front wheels and 1 cm in the rear compared to North America. Probably works out to a little less than 3cm difference at the front lip. My guess is that with the roads in the northern US often being in poor condition, Porsche allows us a little extra suspension travel for comfort and longevity.
