oil gauage reading

Had an oil/filter change done. When I shut off the car and start it back up i only have 1 bar highlighted. I checked the dipstick and it reads right.
Any insight as to why i have only 1 bar? Is there something faulty?
This had never happen before after i've had the oil/filter changed.

What’s faulty is the guy who changed your oil; he didn’t put enough back in……………add more oil to bring it up to the correct level, and find another place to change your oil………….

I'd likely let the car sit a bit (at level) then recheck the gauge in the car as you say the dip stick is reading correct. You don't want to overfill it either.

Garage
What do you mean when you say it reads only one bar AFTER you start the car?

When measuring the oil level with the gauge one does not start the car.

FWIW.

This am after parking my car for 4ish hours on a incline (rear lower than front) my dash gauge showed one bar flashing. (i always check the guage before starting the car). I was quite surprised to see it that low, as I have never seen it that low before. Fortunately I still have the dipstick otherwise I would have been concerned.
It read fine on the guage before parking it and read fine on the guage when I got home. (the dipstick was fine at the start/parking/home.

Just that odd angle parking was enough to mess with the gauge. Personally, the dipstick is still king.
