Removing needles from instrument cluster

Does anyone know how to do this? I've been pulling but I don't want to break anything. I'm trying to recalibrate my cluster. Turning won't help because the motor won't grip the needle. It will just go back counterclockwise when I plut it back in the car.

Use a plastic fork with the tines broken off except for the last 1/4 inch to pry them straight up. The needles are on there with friction alone.

This page on my site may help you:
