Tiptronic Service

Hello Tip owners...
Just some info for you.
Yesterday I had my tip trans. serviced. The car is a 2000 S with 64000 kms.
I wanted to service the transmission because the car is 9 years old and I'm not sure if it had been done. The fluid was quite black so I'm glad I had this done.
It says in the Bentley manual that it would require 3.5 litres to refill. I read somewhere that it is closer to 7 litres, mine took 6.5 litres. We had to wait over 4 hours for the trans to cool down for the filling procedure which requires the trans to be at a specific temperature. I used Esso 71141 which is recommended.
It's a messy job but shifts are quick and smooth now. I should have taken some photos...next time.
BTW..my mechanic allows to watch and learn...even help out a little, so it was a fun day.
Cheers
Mike
