As far as I know the 97's can't take 18" wheels (this issue was fixed in the 98's, I think).

But... BBS LM's do look AWESOME on a Boxster (perhaps you can get it in 17" rim diameter?)

The 18s will FIT, they will simply ruin the suspension, which is NOT engineered to handle 18s. This was changed later models but in the 97, it is a no-no.

17s work and look fine anyway.

To answer the original question, the BBS LM would look absolutely gorgeous on a Boxster, I think. When I wear out my tires (which have quite a bit of tread left currently), I plan to upgrade, and the LM's are near the top of my list.

Of course, I'll be doing 17x7"f, 17x8.5"r because I have a 97.

Now here's a question -- can the 97 take spacers without suspension issues? I think the 17" wheels look fine, especially with the 255's in the rear, but really could be spaced another 10mm or so.

To my knowledge, this would work. My question is, what are you after in doing this.

BTW-I agree that this wheel is beautiful and would look great in a 17"

I absolutely love the LM wheel so took the oportunity to get a set of 18s that were offered to me and put them on my S. I think it looks great.

My car is a 2000MY so I can't comment on the fitment for earlier cars, it also has M030 sports suspension.

Originaly I was told that the wheels would go straight onto the car but when I fitted them the rears were rubbing very slightly on the damper body so I asked around and bought a set of GT3 wheel spacers and longer bolts, the spacers are 5mm I think .

I have tried for the first time on this board to post a pic, hope it comes out.

Cheers

Andy

Hey Paul,
Glad to see you've joined up.

BBS LM's are pure class. And as far as lowering, any car looks better 1" lower than from the factory!
