front hood dampers

i recently bought a 986 and changed the front hood dampers, as i thought they were a bit slow opening, compared to the rear ones, but when i fitted the new one it didnt seem to make much difference, theyre still not as fast opening as the rear ones, and they dont seem as rigid either. are they meant to be like that?

I don't think speed should be a major factor in replacing the hood dampeners. The hood weighs about twice what the rear trunk weighs so it will obviously be slower, as long as it isn't drooping and opens all the way there shouldn't be a problem. The temperature in your area can also affect how well the dampeners work.
I wouldn't worry about it.
