Short shifter loose?

I just recently put in a Schnell short shifter with billet linkage. For the first couple weeks it was very tight but, now it's very sloppy and feels like it could pop out of gear at any time. Has something loosened up? What should I check, I don't want to pull the console back out but, I don't think I have any choice. When it's in gear I can shake the stick back and forth about a half an inch...I know it shouldn't be like that.

Sounds like a bushing worked loose.
