On the engine side, there is a spring clip, somewhat shaped like a isosceles trapezoid, that secures both the power steering hose and the brake booster vac hose. Lift this up and then the vac hose should pull off. Take care not to lossen the pwr. steering hose or you'll lose the PS fluid.

I don't see any such trapezoid. All I am able to view is exactly what the picture shows. I have an aftermarket top which will only go up a tad giving me little room to work with. I do, however, see two screws that connect the hose to the engine casing. Is it ok to remove those so I can pull the part off the engine?
