another window fault (please forgive in advance)

i have an early boxster and both front window regulators were broken, both were replaced and now when the roof is down everything is cool , however when the roof is up the windows stop about 3 inches from the top, if you turn the key in the lock till the window go's up to top then once you start the engine it go's back down, help please, at least untill the good weather is here

Hi there, I too am having probs with a window and came across this in the handbook, may just help you. "Storing final position of the windows. If the battery is disconnected and re-connected, the windows will not be raised automatically when the door is closed. 1. Close windows ONCE with the rocker switch. 2. Press the front half of the rocker switch again to store the final position of the windows in the control unit." Good luck.
